Baxter Gains Recognition for its Student Undergraduate Programme

Baxter places great importance on providing learning and development opportunities for people and this is demonstrated through its Graduate and Student placement schemes. A variety of placement opportunities are available from spending a few weeks with teams through to a year-long placement programme for undergraduates as part of their degree course.

In the UK we are proud of the placement year experience on offer and were delighted to have recently gained external recognition of this through RateMyPlacement, an independent online site where students can find placements and rate their placement experience.
Students are asked for responses to questions such as:

• Did you enjoy the placement?
• To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
• To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
• How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?

As a result of the responses provided by our past students, Baxter has been listed in the Top Medium-sized Scheme table for 2017-2018. This is a listing we are really proud of because the table is based on reviews written by students about their experiences of their time with Baxter.

Baxter continues to build connections with Universities to encourage undergraduates to consider a career with us and being listed in this way is a great measurement of the opportunities we provide as an organisation.

Over the past few years we have had undergraduate placements in functions which have included marketing, logistics, communications, medical and IT. A number of students have returned and embarked on further stages of their careers or joined the graduate programme going on to full time employment with Baxter. This builds on our inclusion and diversity initiatives to encourage and support millennials.
