Employee Health and Safety - Providing a safe workplace

Managing health and safety issues shows respect for our employees, and improved performance can lead to improved productivity in our workforce as well as cost savings. At the same time we expect all employees to take responsibility for their own health and safety and that of those around them, and strive to build a caring and open safety culture amongst our staff.

In the UK, Thetford Manufacturing has worked more than two million hours without employees having an injury causing lost time, while our Compton headoffice has worked more than three million hours without a lost time injury. This excellent achievement is based upon the wide adopting best safety practices, and practicing behavioural based safety, and in addition to our robust systems for identifying hazards across our operations, and managing the risks associated with them, and seeking compliance with all legislative requirements.

Promoting Employee Wellness

As a healthcare company Baxter has a special interest in promoting wellness amongst our staff, and carry out regular health promotion events, including voluntary employee screening for issues such as heart disease with advice on diet and exercise provided if required. In addition, recent programmes have included how to more effectively balance work and home life and avoid stress, where we promoted and demonstrated the use of alternative and relaxation therapies.
